\r\n <!-' + '- google_ad_section_start -' + '->Hi, everyone.
\r\n
\r\nWe recently adopted a Chihuahua who needed a new home. Cricket is 3 years old, 3 lb and 9 oz and has been here for 2 months. We also have a border collie/lab mix, weighing almost 50 lbs, 5 years old. Sassy likes to herd but Cricket is faster and the dining room table is "home base" for her. She pretty much stands her ground against Sassy. She was abused by her first owners by being kept in a crate or small room and the grandkids were allowed to tease her. She hates kids, for that reason. She was also raised to potty on a puppy pad all the time. We have broken her of that except at night. She continues to make messes so I need to keep her corralled in a small area. We found out quickly that a crate would NOT work. I use a plastic laundry hamper, no lid, which is open weaved but she can\'t get out. She has her favorite blanket and very seldom has an accident since it is close quarters. The problem is getting her there. She hates going to bed. The lady who rescued her after the owners wife passed away, said she would snap at her when she went to put her in HER bed (Kathy let her sleep in her bed). So I\'m not sure how to get her into her bed without all the trauma. Any suggestions? She is pretty mellow otherwise, unless I disturb her from a sound sleep in my chair. Then she will growl but I just tell her to stop it and she does. It\'s the night time routine that is causing the problems. Thank you!!<!-' + '- google_ad_section_end -' + '-><!-' + '- AMS FIRST IN POST -' + '->\r\n

    Chihuahua will not go to bed without growling and snapping

    Hi, everyone.

    We recently adopted a Chihuahua who needed a new home. I use a plastic laundry hamper, no lid, which is open weaved but she can't get out. She has her favorite blanket and very seldom has an accident since it is close quarters. The problem is getting her there. She hates going to bed. The lady who rescued her after the owners wife passed away, said she would snap at her when she went to put her in HER bed (Kathy let her sleep in her bed). So I'm not sure how to get her into her bed without all the trauma. Any suggestions? She is pretty mellow otherwise, unless I disturb her from a sound sleep in my chair. Then she will growl but I just tell her to stop it and she does. It's the night time routine that is causing the problems. Thank you!!
