    dog after dog attact

My 18 pound cockapoo (2 years old) was attached by a lab about 2 weeks ago. He received several puncture wounds on his neck and body. Since then my dog is very aggravated by any noise, sudden movement, and by the sight of other dogs. I have been leashing him in the house so he does not go after anyone who comes in. He has even gone after my husband and kids if they get up to quick. I am afraid that he might bite a child, adult or even go after another dog. I don't know how to desensitize him. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Describe "go after"

He has been very stronly traumatized and it may take a while for him to get over it. I would just be very patient for now and let him try to work his way through it. He may never work his way through it. DON'T fuss at him or do anything negative to him when he acts like this. It's not his fault and he can't help it. He thinks he's going to have to fight for his life when he does this and until he gets over that, there is really not much you can do to cure him. You can just protect him and the people around him by keeping him away from them.

I can't give you any advice, but I just wanted to say that I am so sorry that such a terrible thing happened to your dog. I hope he will get over it.
