\r\n <!-' + '- google_ad_section_start -' + '->Hi, I\'m hoping someone can give me some tips on how to handle my situation. I have a 9-1/2 year old Beagle-Basset male. I lost my Beagle female in April 2011 to kidney failure; she was 8 and they had grown up together and were best friends. I started looking in early spring to adopt another dog and finally found a 1-1/2 year old female Beagle-Pug at my local shelter. I made sure to introduce them several times before I adopted her, although never at my home, and they played & got along great. But since I brought her home, my male just will not accept her in any way. She is timid and scared of everything; the only place she seems to feel safe is in the corner of my sofa, and I think his behavior is making her nervous and frightened. I think I incorrectly assumed that since he and my Beagle were best buddies that he would welcome another dog into the home. Does anyone have any advice on how to get these 2 to get along? ANY help would be so appreciated. Thanks.<!-' + '- google_ad_section_end -' + '-><!-' + '- AMS FIRST IN POST -' + '->\r\n
