Savannah, our 4 month old pup, continues to chew on my husband. His feet and arms. We have tried many things to stop it and I feel we are doing something wrong, obviously. My concern is being around children or other adults, I don't want her accused of biting someone. And ideas greatly appreciated.
4 month old puppies are teething like crazy and putting pretty much everything into their mouths. When you say "you have tried many things," we need a little more information to make suggestions. What have you actually tried? What is your husband doing? Some husbands (even mine, who otherwise is pretty well-trained), seem to enjoy rough-and-tumble interactions with their dogs, especially if the dog is a big, strong one. Could he possibly be playing any games with her that would actually encourage the chewing (even if he doesn't think it's a game, like stomping his feet around when she's pouncing on them and biting? because that looks very much like a game to an excited puppy)? Give us a bunch more details and maybe we can come up with some new things for you to try, because you're right! You absolutely want to teach her appropriate behavior and good bite inhibition
