    Dog's behavior to new toy

I recently brought home an interactive dog toy (Go-Go Dog Pals). Kota is behaving positively playing, chasing and having fung with that. But one of my dogs' behavior to new toy is not good. He is not interesting at all. Can anyone suggest me what can I do to make it interesting for him.

    Hi David,
Not to worry. Just like people, dogs have different personalities and different interests. Just because my husband loves hockey, golf and horror movies doesn't mean I am interested in any of those things, or motivated to pursue them. For a variety of reasons (fear, lack of socialization, lack of "play" skills/experience, just personality differences) some dogs simply aren't as enthusiastic about toys as others. Although it sounds like Kota loves her new toy, maybe it's just not something your other dog is interested in, and there's nothing wrong with that. You'll have to experiment and see if there's a different kind of toy that motivates him more, or if there's a way you can encourage the play. Clicker training comes in handy for this - Karen Pryor's "Don't Shoot the Dog" is probably the foremost primer for this, but there's a lot of literature available!
