My border collie Jasper is completely terrified of the tunnel and the teeter totter. I am training her for agility, and she loves doing all the other things in agility like jumps, weave poles, a frames, and everything else. I have made a foot long tunnel, and she still wont go through. I dont have any more ideas, and as for the teeter totter, she doesnt like it, and i dont know how to train it. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
I would try desensitizing to the equipment from start. Drop all the way down to beginning and we try and change the initial emotional response to a better association. Something spooked your dog and has a conditioned emotional response of not good/fear or whatever dog is thinking but its nit working so I would start over. Get a hula hoop "I would try" desensitize slowly a sniff treat lay on floor let dog sniff treat. If u use clicker traing lay hoop on floor treat whenever her paw goes into hoop until you get all four in "awesome thinking game" pick hoop up key her investigate treat. Try lure dog through JAckpot if dog god through. Proof it in every angle place. Then make hoop longer and longer. Might take weeks but it will pay off as you can do ability ......
Teeter same thing try with a board on floor work your way back to teeter slowly....
Key in all traing work at dogs pace know when to drop criteria and never expect anything from dog just have fun and Gina's far as dog wants.
There are more things to try be creative and have fun.
