Australian Shephard Choclate Lab Mix Training Help!!

My name is Deborah and I just inherited my daughters eight month old dog Lucas which is an Australian Shephard Choclate Lab mix. WoW.... I have had many different breeds of dogs in my time but never have I had a dog that was so wonderfuly loving and frustrating at the same time. Can I just say "Full Time Job!" I would be very appreciative of any advice and helpful tips that you have to offer on the breed, thank you in advance.
