He is happy with anybody that we introduce him to, but is terrified strangers or of unusual stimuli or loud noises which I dont know how to deal with. Panics and tries to jump off his lead if a car drives past while out on a walk. We can\'t use any appliances that make a noise - vacuum cleaner, electric carving knife and even a fly spray hiss drives him crazy. Distant voices freak him, also voices on TV. Can\'t water the garden because the hissing from the hose nozzle upsets him. Sensitive to new stimuli - can\'t take him where there are people - goes crazy if taken into a shop or on a sidewalk where there are people walking. Any ideas?<!-' + '- google_ad_section_end -' + '-><!-' + '- AMS FIRST IN POST -' + '->\r\n

\r\n <!-' + '- google_ad_section_start -' + '->Try the "thundershirt" - Other than that just work gradually to expose him to new things - keep it very low key - low volume on the TV- feed him while noises happen - don\'t make a big deal of it yourself. Introduce him to as many people as you can, again keep it very low key, have them feed him treats.

      Noise Sensitive Min Pin

I have just aquired a miniature pinscher - toy breed less than 6 kilos, 7 months old. He is training really fast - nearly house trained after two days! He is happy with anybody that we introduce him to, but is terrified strangers or of unusual stimuli or loud noises which I dont know how to deal with. Panics and tries to jump off his lead if a car drives past while out on a walk. We can't use any appliances that make a noise - vacuum cleaner, electric carving knife and even a fly spray hiss drives him crazy. Distant voices freak him, also voices on TV. Can't water the garden because the hissing from the hose nozzle upsets him. Sensitive to new stimuli - can't take him where there are people - goes crazy if taken into a shop or on a sidewalk where there are people walking. Any ideas?
