New Pup / New to forums

Hi,
My name is Chad and my family and I just saved a 7 month old "off marked" red Husky from going to the shelter. She is beautiful to us and seems like she will make an excellent addition to our family of 4. We have a 10 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. This is my first forum experience and our first puppy as a family. The puppy was chained outside when we got her so the first thing we did last night was to give her a flea bath. She is 7 months old and has not really had a name and is not responding well to commands. We want her to be an inside family dog. As a family we love to hike and camp so she needs to be obedient. Soooo... I am looking for advice, tips, secrets, prayers or what ever anyone can offer to help make this a smooth transition for the puppy going from outside and unloved to inside loved and obedient Thanks in advance!
