I have already posted a couple times but I finally decided to do an intro post since we just got 2 dogs. I was against it since we live in an apartment but my husband convinced me, for the girls of course. The first one is a black lab/blue heeler/chihuahua mix, don't ask how that happened because I don't know, LOL. We got him last Monday & so far he's doing good. We are getting the second puppy later today. She is a pure-bred boxer and only 6 months old. We are getting her from hubby's ex-stepdaughter. They are moving and can't take her with them. So in the space of a week we went from having no dogs but planning on getting one when we moved to having 2. Oh boy!
Oh WOW so you went from zero to 2 in a week. I see you are getting a boxer - have you had one before? You are in for some fun let me tell you. I can't wait to see some pictures of the 2 of them - what are their names?
Stephanie, I had a boxer years ago when I was a kid, about 10 I think. Their names are Jasper (the little black puppy) & Rocky. We didn't name the boxer or we would have come up with something a little more original, ya know? And my hubby was wrong, the boxer isn't a girl, he's a boy! Thankfully, so is the other puppy, so we don't have to worry about anything in a year or two.
As for pictures... The first pic of Stephanie's dogs looks almost exactly like Rocky. I'll have to try to get Jasper to hold still long enough for one, maybe when he's sleeping...
That's super! You can't have too much doggie love in my opinion. I have 2 but wouldn't mind a third. I've had 3 dogs for years and years (two different groupings of 3) and that is so much fun.
I am not so sure about that, I know my limits as far as dogs are concerned. For various reasons (including financial) I can only manage one at a time, I just don't think I could do my best for more than one dog at a time, but she has the cats for company and I make sure that she gets to socialise with other dogs almost every day.
I admire people who can care for a number of dogs, but like kernow I know that at this stage of my life one dog is enough. It works out quite well for her because she gets to spend lots of time with other dogs within the family as well.
