    Do your dogs watch TV

Some of my dogs have done it to different extents and none moreso than my black lab. In fact, I was napping early this morning and when I woke up, she was sitting in front of the TV watching the news. The funny thing is that when I turned it onto the animal channel for her, she didn't care. She wanted to watch the news!

She will sometimes respond if there is a dog barking on television, but I don't think she takes that much notice. Oddly she does sometimes sit and watch the washing machine.

One of my previous dogs did, he sometimes looked behind the television for the dog (or cat) that he could see on the screen. He would always bark if there was the sound of a doorbell on the television.

None of them show any interest in watching the TV. The boxers bark at certain sounds on TV, doorbells, bleeps and especially dogs barking - they both run to either the back door or the front door looking for the barking dogs. The collie x doesn't respond to any of the sounds on TV at all.

I have sometimes caught my dogs staring at the TV. I think that maybe some of the movements on the TV caught their attention.

It's just a hoot. I recall seeing a profile on singer Josh Groban and on his tour bus, his dog has his own seat AND TV which is apparently usually tuned into Animal Planet.

Poor dog, I would be really worried if my dog had nothing better to do than watch television.

If there's an unusual noise or the sound of a cat meowing they will. Other dogs, not so much unless it's a really sharp warning bark they will perk up until they realize it's the tv then "oh, that's all it is."

My friend had a Staffy that would sit on the sofa and watch television with her. It was funny to see because he would lay back with his paw draped over the arm of the sofa like a real slob.
