    A Sad Goodbye

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Megan was a little unsteady on her feet when i took her out at lunch time. By the evening she seemed to be struggling to eat normally, I got her to the vet quickly but by then she could stand but she could hardly walk and her eyes were flickering. She'd had a hefty stroke and the only kind option was to have her put to sleep. It was a very sad day for all of us.

I'm very sorry to hear this. This is the very worst part of having pets.

I know words are not much help when you feel so sad, but I am sorry to hear your sad news. I hope your many hapy memories of Meg will bring you some comfort.

I just wanted to say thank you to all those people who have sent me private messages and good wishes. Several have encouraged me to stay on the forum, of course I will stay, it is too soon for us to think of getting another dog, but there are lots of dogs in our extended family so dogs will still play a big part in my life. When the time is right we will adopt another dog and of course we will always have many happy memories of Megan.

I'm sorry to hear about Megan. I'm glad you did the right thing & put her to sleep, I know so many people who would have kept thier pet alive even if they were suffering.

It is terribly sad and I know that words don't really hep, but you absolutely did the right thing for her and I hope that knowing that helps a little.
