I'm curious again....
Do you have or have you had, dogs and cats grow up together and pick up each other quirts/habits?

Buster & Jacob
Jacob started sleeping under the covers like Buster does. Buster will wash his face like a cat.
But the really strangest thing.... is seeing you dog outside covering poo.![]()
women and cats will do as they please,
men and dogs need to get used to the fact.
Awwwww, such cute pictures, really........love them!
LOL, LOL, I really can't imagine that - does Buster use his front paws to dig and cover his poops? Mine sometime scratch out with their back legs, but it's not in any effort to cover it, it's just something I have seen some dogs do.
My last dog was brought up with a cat, and yes, she used to wash herself just like the cat too and I mean really wash herself. But, the weirdest thing was, we had a cat flap so the cat could come and go as she wanted but she only ever went out to toilet and then come straight back in again. She would only go outside the house when I took the dog out for a walk......seriously, the cat would follow behind us around the roads and to the park.........it was lucky I lived in a quiet road.
Aww... I love it, my cats poo outside as well, litter boxes stink so they just follow the dogs out. I think its cute.
Buster starts with the back kick but Jacob runs over to him and rubs all over him first then start covering, almost like he's saying "youre doing it wrong" then Buster will mimic with the front foot.
I've tried to catch it on film, but they high tail it in different directions. (camera shy).

We had a cat a few years ago, that came to us as a kitten when we had two dogs in the house already. She forever thought that she was a dog, and apart from cuddling up to them in their beds, she used to steal their bones off them, by butting in and then wouldn't let them have them back. She would also walk out with us, which could be a nuisance, and usually ended up having to take her home, and start again, hopefully before she came through the cat flap at full speed, looking for her 'boys'.
I used to run a small dog grooming business from home and she was always jumping onto the table with some startled dog, but they all seemed to tolerate her well, and all the neighbourhood dogs got met by her.
Isn't wonderful? Life is so much more interesting with them about.
especially when they don't know we're watching

I was going through the forum and came across this thread. Sarah was a recent addition to the feline family we already had (7 cats). The cats started out hissing at Sarah. Now they are tolerating her.
The dog wants to play with the cats sooooo bad. They aren't sure they want to though.
The only thing that concerns me is Sarah has this habit of "chewing" on one of our cats, Pixel. The cat tolerates this behavior which surprises me. Initially, I tried to get Sarah away from Pixel. Now, I am letting them do their own thing. I figure if Pixel really wanted to get away from Sarah he would.

I'm MultiTasking and I can't get up!!!
I have always had cats and dogs together. I have seen examples of them working together to get into mischief, such as the cat getting up and knocking the container of chews down for the dog to eat while the cat nets to eat the small bits that the dog doesn't bother with. I have seen the cats act as if they are they are dogs but I have not noticed my dog do any cat like things.
We have cats as well as a dog, my cat was good friends with my dog but he would never act like a dog, he thinks he is far more important than a dog.

I had cats when I was very, very young, but after that it's been dogs all the way, so I don't have a lot of mixed experience, except that neighbors have had both with great success.
