Around here, our newspapers have had dogs of the week for decades in an attempt to find dogs (and cats too actually) homes. The local TV channels do daily things most of the time now too. Have you ever gotten a dog of the week or something like that?
That is a very good idea as long as they make sure that they check people out first.
If it makes people more aware of the large number of dogs in need of a home, then it must be a good thing.
