    Dreaming?

When my dog is asleep she sometimes makes funny little whimpering noises and her legs move as if she is running. I assume she is dreaming, it only lasts for a few minutes at a time and she is well and happy when she wakes up. my previous dogs sometimes made little sounds or movements while asleep but I have never seen a dog seem to be running in her sleep as this one does. Do your dogs 'dream'?

My dog dreams. Sometimes her legs move as if she is running and her whole body seems to quiver, she occasionally makes little sounds too. It doesn't seem to bother her.

My cats dream as well. They twitch a lot and you can just see in their faces that they are dreaming. It is really cute

oh yeah. All of my dogs have dreamed vividly with plenty of leg movements. What I get a kick out of is when both of my current dogs do it in synch. I don't get that, how they could both suddenly be kicking and then stop at the same time.

Yes you should. My fiancee pointed it out to me. They make little noises as well and will move their paws around.

I will have to look at my cats too, I haven't noticed them dreaming but perhaps it is less obvious than when my dog dreams.

I've noticed both Rocky & Jasper dreaming. My poor teenager wakes up with bruises because Rocky sleeps with her & kicks her while sleeping. Jasper usually sleeps under a bed & it takes me a minute to realize that the little whimpers I hear are him dreaming. He's a cute puppy.
