I am Sage and help special needs students get comfortable around therapy dogs.
Their fears are eased when they can give commands and see the dog obey.
That sounds interesting, what exactly do therapy dogs do? In England we have P.A.T. Dogs (pets as therapy) they go into hospitals and residential homes to meet all sorts of people who enjoy having pets around but are unable to have their own pet. They have P.A.T. Cats too!
It is true they do have P.A.T. cats, they must be very trusting cats because I know that my two would be useless as P.A.T. cats.
I am sure it is harder for most cats to have an aptitude for the P.A.T. scheme, but I can think of some cats that would be perfect. There is something very special about having a cat curled up on your lap purring.
