It is excitement thing a far as he is concerned, and if you have ever watched Crufts, many of the collies seem to go for their leads too............

\nWhat I do is just drop the lead and let him wrestle with it by himself. When he realises I am not holding it any more he drops it, so I go to pick it up again and he starts again so I drop it again.......it goes on like this 3-4 times then he gives up. Hi, my dog Buddy is getting better, slowly, with puppy biting,BUT at 4 months old, bites when we put on lead. Yhis could be excitement.
