Summer is coming, I often go out for a jog or walk with my dog. I found that some pet owners use a retractable dog leash to manage their own dog, and I also want to buy one for my pet.
However, my friend told me that the dog leash is dangerous to pets.
I am hesitating now. Welcome to give me advice.
For general walks, retractable leashes are not my favorite, but not because I've found them to be dangerous in their own right, but because it doesn't allow for a lot of control (plus they break pretty easy from what I saw in my pet store days). However, they can be good for extended recall training, since they give distance and the tension of the retraction can guide the direction, but in general I prefer 6 ft leads (leather) or standard long lines.
