    Hi all

I'm new here, and in need of some help I rescued a puppy, and now I'm trying to train but I'm seeming to get any where, with her I've only had her a month, could you point to a good place to start?

Hi, could you tell us a little more about your puppy, what breed is it, how old is it, and also tell us the name, I don't like calling a dog 'it'

Is there a local dog training class? Ask at your local vet, they usually have information on local groups.

She is a pix mix, and is about 5 or 6 months old, her name is Felony. She is the most lovable pup but just doesn't seem to want to listen.

Hi and welcome, be nice to see some pics of Felony. How are you training the pup? Using lots of treats? and making it fun? A training class is a great idea.

It is really important to make it fun and to give lots of praise. Sometimes you think that you are not making much progress but then it suddenly clicks, so be patient and be consistent.

Yes I am using treats, and making it as fun as I can. I give lots of praise and try to stay consistent but I'll be going starting school on the 23rd of this month so I'm worried about her training.

So why are you worried? The training class will help you and show you how to work with your dog, plus you will be with other dog owners and you will learn alot from watching them too. Don't worry, there are bound to be other dogs there that have no or little training. If you think about it, there is no point taking your dog to classes if it is already trained is there? I hope it goes well, please let us know how you get on.
