thank you so much!! i left him in his crate last night he he didn't pee or poo =) we took him out at midnight and then again at 5am =) i will try again tonight. the only question i have now is...if we're not home during work hours...do we leave the food and drink in his crate? the crate is not big enough for his food and water. should i only leave his water in there and just feed him in the morning and when we get home from dinner? will that be too long of a time for him to be in his crate? or should we only start of at night and continue leaving the pad there in his pen while we're at work? Thanks.

Now you are catching on and so is he. Yay you.

Just leave water in the crate. Try to feed him 3 small meals a day. Once in the morning. Once when you return from work and again later in the evening.

will that be too long of a time for him to be in his crate?
Yes, its too long a time but life dictates thats how long he stays. There is nothing you can do about that unless you can come home at lunch time. Expect some accidents and don't act upset about them. He can't help it.
