Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to have found this forum! I am a volunteer adoption counselor at an animal shelter in Idaho. After losing my 14 year old Pug in December I decided rather than getting a new puppy I would just get my "puppy fix" while volunteering at our local shelter. I failed miserably. I fell in absolute with my sweetie Ellie on my first day volunteering. She's a 1 year old Italian Greyhound / Jack Russell mix. She was deathly afraid of men when I brought her home but she has been with us for 5 months and seems to have completely conquered her fear. Two months after adopting Ellie I was approached about becoming a "foster mom" for a 1 year old Min-Pin mix who was shelter stressed and had stopped eating. My status of "Foster Mom" lasted all of 48 hours. He is now our second canine fur baby and his name is Jax. He is still steadily make it back to a healthy weight. They are two of the best things that have every happened to our family.
