\r\n <!-' + '- google_ad_section_start -' + '->I have a 13 year old Westie that is a very good fellow...I recently bought a toy poodle puppy and the Westie has accepted the puppy but
\r\nthe puppy is pestering the older dog all the time and gets over excited until I have to break them up. ( he jumps on him and bites his ears and tail)
\r\n
\r\nThe Westie is tolerating the puppy but I don\'t like him attacked on a regular basis as he likes to be left alone, and is used to being the only dog.
\r\n
\r\nI play with the puppy all the time and try to get him to calm down, but he gets out of hand. The older dog sometimes gets agressive with the pup
\r\nand I don\'t want either dog to get hurt.
\r\n
\r\nMy question is will they both settle down. I am checking into obedience training for the pup, but need to know how to handle the situation until
\r\nthe classes begin. ( the puppy is 10 weeks old)

      have new puppy- need advice

I have a 13 year old Westie that is a very good fellow...I recently bought a toy poodle puppy and the Westie has accepted the puppy but
the puppy is pestering the older dog all the time and gets over excited until I have to break them up. ( he jumps on him and bites his ears and tail)

The Westie is tolerating the puppy but I don't like him attacked on a regular basis as he likes to be left alone, and is used to being the only dog.

I play with the puppy all the time and try to get him to calm down, but he gets out of hand. The older dog sometimes gets agressive with the pup
and I don't want either dog to get hurt.

My question is will they both settle down. I am checking into obedience training for the pup, but need to know how to handle the situation until
the classes begin. ( the puppy is 10 weeks old)

      thanks for any help
