^ I have a friend who loves her beagle dearly. I didn't hear them complain about the recall issue or maybe they're really a patient couple that I cannot hear them say anything that disturbs them about having a pet! haha

I'm sorry to hear that and wish you could meet my dogs, they would change your mind.... as long as you don't mind being french kissed by dogs, many people do find that a bit off putting. That and the fact that they follow you everywhere. If you ever want to go to the bathroom alone, this is NOT the breed for you. I myself don't blame the breed creators so much as I blame the current crop of people who get the dogs to try and make them 'tough'. They will do anything you ask of them, are super sensitive to handler influence and thus easily molded. They do tend to hog the bed

Martin, I confess it is not a breed I would want to own but I do agree with you about the people who own them to 'look tough' are mainly responsible for getting the dogs a bad reputation and in some cases the way the animals have been treated has led to tragedies.

I think every has it's own personality and point of view about things, we as owners are mostly responsible for their experiences and how such personality and point of view develops and affects them.
I'm still to encounter a dog difficult to like, although some were total trouble makers, still they were all quite good dogs, nice companions and very lovely towards their family.
I think dogs aren't difficult to like, they are a living sentient beings, so entitled to being alive and have a good life as everybody or everything (your pick) else who populates this planet.
