Why did you name your dog as such?

There are lots of stories and reasons why one came up with one pet's name. Let's share them here! :cool:

I have a 1 yr old male Golden Retriever named Cruiser. I guess I thought he looked like Tom Cruise and he liked cruising thus we came up with the name! LOL

Most of the time, we sit down and chat until we come up with a name (myself and the dog in question). Most recently, though, I knew going in what I wanted their names to be. The last one was named for the daughter of a friend. What's funny is how much they are alike in character.

My dog already had a name when we adopted her, she was called Duce, I hated the name but wanted to change it to a name with a similar sound, she became Lucy, a new name and a new start and she is now a very happy little dog.

She already had a name when she was re-homed, she was called Meg, so she became Megan.

Ruby and Jakey came out of rescue with their names and we kept them. Roddy came to us as Rodney but, we call him Roddy. If you ever watched the TV show 'Fools and Horses' you'll know why....................!

We only have cats right now but our favorite holiday is Halloween so if we got a dog it would be a Halloween name,

I have chatted about several names as well with my fiancee. We just know when the right name pops in to our heads.
