I would second that, rescue dogs can make wonderful pets. If you are looking for a specific breed have a look on the internet there may be a rescue society for that breed.
Hey Jack,
I'm new to the forum too. Kinda lost in all of this tech stuff!

Hi to everyone - I'm new to the form. Looking forward to sharing ideas and thoughts with other dog lovers. I have 2 mixed breed rescues and think they are great dogs. I also volunteer at our local shelter and agree that there are wonderful dogs there just waiting for homes.
Thanks for the kindness on the forum! It's great to find people who aren't always bashing people on forums. Proud to be a member!

Cavies are very nice dogs. The advantage to getting a purebred from a reputable breeder is that you know what you are getting and the breeder will help you out -including taking the puppy back if necessary. When I was breeding (Staffordshire Bull Terriers) I once took a six year old bitch back because of a divorce in the family. Stuff happens sometimes. I have also gotten very nice dogs from the shelter but it is kind of a gamble, especially if you get a puppy you have no real idea what the grown dog will be.
I am all for rescue.... we have turned into a throw away society....
and it just breaks my heart that people do that to these animals.
There are truely WONDERFUL dogs out there that need a loving lifetime home.
Nothing at all wrong with them except....no body wants them anymore.
women and cats will do as they please,
men and dogs need to get used to the fact.
