Several have encouraged me to stay on the forum, of course I will stay, it is too soon for us to think of getting another dog, but there are lots of dogs in our extended family so dogs will still play a big part in my life. We will re-home a dog from a rescue centre, so in a couple of weeks we will go and visit the centre, it always makes me feel so sad when I see so many animals in need of a home.

In a way I was lucky that it was very clear that she couldn\'t go on in that state, I know that in some cases people agonise for weeks over the decision to end a pets life rather than allowing them to suffer.
