It does give me some comfort in knowing that we did the right thing for Megan. In a way I was lucky that it was very clear that she couldn't go on in that state, I know that in some cases people agonise for weeks over the decision to end a pets life rather than allowing them to suffer.
My son misses Megan terribly (as we all do) we know that we can't replace her, but we are going to start looking for a new dog. We will re-home a dog from a rescue centre, so in a couple of weeks we will go and visit the centre, it always makes me feel so sad when I see so many animals in need of a home.
