The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel come in many colors—the prince charles (tricolor), king charles (black and tan), ruby (rich mahogany red), and blenheim (red and white). The Blenheim is the one preferred by many breeders.

They are affectionate dogs with a sunny personality as shown by the seemingly endless wagging of their tails. They are outgoing and can easily be trained. They are excellent companion dogs that also do well in competitive obedience. The average height of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels range between 12-13 inches and the average weight is around 10-18 pounds.

Since they tend to gain weight easily, regular exercise and proper diet are very important. They are prone to serious genetic heart problems thus it is good to check the medical history before parting with your money.

The breed was named after King Charles II. It is an offspring of the King Charles Spaniel.

Today a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel can cost around $1,000 – $14,000.
